Permian Extinction ... может быть ТОМУ вымиранию придали другое содержание ???

COVERT SCIENCE-Eight beachcombers thought fame & fortune awaited them when they found a monstrous carcass washed ashore near Palermo, Italy, July 2,1989. “It was at least 100ft long, snake-like, & had a huge head & a wide mouth full of vicious, needle-like teeth.” Excitement turned sour when “military types showed up, confiscated our cameras & made us leave.” Later, no trace of it could be found, & nothing appeared in the media. This pic is the only apparent survivor.

Giant Croc 1914

A giant Anaconda snake over 60 feet long; Legends of this monster serpent have existed for centuries; Some say it really exists out there in the unexplored parts of the Amazon Rainforest.

A quarter of a billion years ago, long before dinosaurs or mammals evolved, the 10-foot (0.3-meter) predator Dinogorgon, whose skull is shown here, hunted floodplains in the heart of today's South Africa. In less than a million years Dinogorgon vanished in the greatest mass extinction ever (the End-Permian Extinction, a/k/a "The Great Dying"), along with about nine of every ten plant and animal species on the planet.

A foto mostra um fóssil gigantesco de amonite. Esses seres possuem diversos tamanhos, alguns podiam até ultrapassar esse da foto, com mais de 1 metro de diâmetro. Eles foram extintos no mesmo período que os dinossauros!
